Marathi artistes speak on the safety measures in the dubbing studios

When the news of Abhishek Bachchan being tested positive for COVID-19 broke, many connected it with his visit to a

dubbing

studio. Like their Bollywood and Hindi television counterparts,

celebrities too have been stepping out for the post production work such as dubbing, mixing etc for their respective films. Marathi

share their experiences of dubbing and other post production activities in the

studios

in the midst of pandemic...
We were extra cautious while dubbing this time: Pushkar Jog
Pushkar Jog, who made multiple visits to a recording studio for dubbing and mixing process of Well Done Baby, feels that caution is the key. “A lot of precautionary

measures

were taken, right from thermal checks at the entrance to presence of limited people and frequent sanitisation, when I was dubbing. We also ensured to sanitise things like the door knobs and headphones after using them.”

No one entered the recording room while I was there: Sayali Sanjeev
Sayali Sanjeev, who dubbed for the Marathi film Gosht Eka Paithanichi a few days ago, says, “I completed three dubbing sessions and got a glimpse of the new normal. Before entering the studio, I had to wait for the sanitising process to complete. No one entered the recording room while I was in there. Due to all the

safety

precautions taken, it felt safe to work in the premises.”

It was only me and one recordist in the studio: Ajay Purkar
Ajay Purkar, who recently dubbed for the historical drama Jangjauhar says, "The studio was properly sanitised before and after the dubbing process, and only I and the recordist were present there. We carried our own lunch too. I think personal hygiene is of equal importance and if we take care of that, half the battle is won."

I was quite relieved to see such strict measures: Siddharth Chandekar
Siddharth Chandekar dubbed for 'Jhimma' at a dubbing studio in Andheri recently. He said, "I have dubbed to that studios, quite a few times. I was quite relieved to see such strict safety measures. The studio in the pre-pandemic time would buzz with multiple post production activities but now they happen in different shifts. We work for longer hours in order to wrap up work in less days. My dubbing session, which used to finish within 3-4 hours went on for around 7 hours, and every hour, I had to stop for five minutes for the sanitisation process of the dubbing room."
