​Ground-breaking debut with 'Lai Bhaari'

Riteish Deshmukh made his acting debut in Marathi cinema with his blockbuster film 'Lai Bhaari' in 2014. Late filmmaker Nishikant Kamat's 'Lai Bhaari' was a complete package of entertainment. It starred Radhika Apte, Aditi Sudhir Pohankar, Sharad Kelkar and Tanvi Azmi in lead roles.

​Debut as a film producer with 'Balak Palak'

Riteish Deshmukh made his debut as a film producer with the Marathi cinema's blockbuster film 'Balak Palak' helmed by Ravi Jadhav. This film deals with the topic of sex education of adolescents which starred Prathamesh Parab, Shashwati Pimplikar, Bhagyashree Shankpal and Madan Deodhar in lead roles.

​'Mauli'

Riteish Deshmukh released his second Marathi film 'Mauli' on December 14, 2018. In an exclusive chat with Etimes, filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar revealed that he approached 'Lai Bhaari', star Riteish Deshmukh for 'Faster Fene 2'. But Riteish proposed 'Mauli'.

Aditya said "The process of 'Mauli' started when we were working the script of 'Faster Fene 2'. Riteish suggested us about film 'Mauli'. Because after 'Lai Bhaari', he wanted to take the character of 'Mauli' ahead"
