Dil Dosti Duniyadari to Chandramukhi: Marathi movies that went on floor post lockdown

As the unlocking process begins many Marathi films started shooting in various parts of the state and even abroad too. Team ‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’, ‘Godavari’, ‘Chandramukhi’ started shooting in the state while team ‘Choomantar’ completed its shooting in London. Recently anotherMarathi film ‘Shrimati Umbrella’began shooting in the capital of England.

‘Dil Dosti Duniyadari’ a Marathi-Telugu bilingual film helmed by Bhaskar Ramagupta recently completed major part of the shooting recently in Pune. The film features Shubhankar Tawde, Dnyanada Ramtirthkar, Akshay Tanksale and Parth Bhalerao among others. Actor Dnyanada Ramtirthkar and Parth Bhalerao will be seen in the Telugu version of the movie too. After shooting most of the part of the movie in Pune, some of the scenes of the Telugu version will be shot in the Hyderabad. This is the first time Akshay will be playing negative character in the film. The film shot in new normal by taking precautions on the set. Most of the scenes were shot outdoor and indoor avoiding crowded places.

‘Choomantar’ apparently become a first Marathi film which was shot out of the country after lockdown. Helmed by Sameer Joshi, the film is bilingual film that began shooting last month has been completed. The lead actors Prarthana Behere, Rinku Rajguru and Rishi Saxena had travelled to London for the shoot, joining Suvrat Joshi, who was already there since several months. Suvrat had reached London in March, after the US tour of his popular Marathi play 'Amar Photo Studio' had to be cancelled midway due to coronavirus outbreak. After spending lockdown there he began shoot with the team. Shrinivas Pokale who had won a National Award is also a part of the movie.

After 'Choomantar', 'Shrimati Umbrella' become second Marathi film which went on floors in London. The movie, which is helmed by Gajendra Ahire features Sonali Kulkarni and Mrunal Kulkarni in the lead roles. According to reports, the film which started shooting from October end will be shot in the outskirts of London. While talking to us earlier Ganjendra had said, "As the fall season has begun, everything has become so picturesque. We won't be impacted much by the lockdown here. Hopefully, we will wrap the shoot smoothly."

Jitendra Joshi who has films like 'Duniyadari', 'ChorichaMamla', 'Kaakan' and many more to his credit, is debuting as a producer with the upcoming Marathi film 'Godavari'. The shoot for the movie has already started in Nashik. The film has actors Neena Kulkarni, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Gauri Nalwade, and Sakhee Gokhale in key roles. Jitendra Joshi remembered actor-director late Nishikant Kamat on muhurat shot of the movie. Written by Nikhil Mahajan and Prajakta Deshmukh the movie is being directed by Nikhil Mahajan.

The shoot of Prasad Oak directorial Chandramukhi has also kicked off in Mumbai. Producer Akshay Bardapurkar and Ajay-Atul who have given the music to the film were also present. The cast of the film has been kept under wraps. However, reportedly, the film's story veers around Tamasha and the politics around it. 'Chandramukhi' is based on the novel written by Vishwas Patil and Chinmay Mandlekar has penned the screenplay and dialogues. During lockdown the team was working hard on the film.
