​4 years of 'Kaccha Limbu': Five interesting facts about the Ravi Jadhav and Sonali Kulkarni starrer

Actor-director Prasad Oak's directorial 'Kaccha Limbu' traces the story of how the parents in the film constantly struggle to take care of their mentally challenged child. It starred Sonali Kulkarni, Ravi Jadhav, Sachin Khedekar and Manmeet Pem in key roles.

As the film completes 4 years of its release on August 11, here are five lesser-known facts about the film:

​Based on the novel 'Runanubandh'

Prasad Oak's 'Kaccha Limbu' was based on contemporary writer Jaywant Dalvi’s novel 'Runanubandh'. It takes you through an emotional journey of parents (played by Sonali Kulkarni and Ravi Jadhav) of a child with special needs.

​Prasad Oak's debut directorial

Prasad Oak has carved a niche for himself in the Marathi film industry over the years. Prasad made his directorial debut with the dark film 'Kaccha Limbu' which was truly a masterpiece.

​Ravi Jadhav's debut as an actor

Marathi cinema's National Award-winning filmmaker Ravi Jadhav made his acting debut with Prasad Oak's 'Kaccha Limbu'. Jadhav as Mr Katdare did what many established actors couldn’t have done it and that too effortlessly.

​Black and White film

Besides a strong storyline and screenplay, the film stood out for being shot in black and white. Talking to ETimes Prasad Oak said "It was my dream to make a black and white. I think after almost 30 years, we did a black and white Marathi film.

​National Award-winning film

'Kaccha Limbu' did extremely well at the Box Office. In fact, it won a National Award for Best Feature Film at the 65th National Film Awards. The film also went to receive two Marathi Filmfare awards for Best Director and Best Film in the year 2018.
