As stated by Kaumudi Online, during the interview, Salim Kumar was asked about the passing of his close friend and fellow actor Cochin Haneefa. His response surprised many because of the calm and acceptance with which he spoke about mortality.
"I don’t feel any loss at Haneefa’s death. He went to the place where I will surely go tomorrow. I am certainly going to meet him soon. Some years ago, when Haneefka’s mother died, I carried her coffin. Haneefka hugged me while crying and said he would not be able to repay the debt of love."
The actor continued by explaining why he did not view death as something to be feared. "I Am Going To Meet Him Soon." In the same conversation, Salim Kumar shared a deeply personal perspective that has now taken on a poignant meaning for fans. "I seriously don’t feel any pain. I’m sure going to meet him there, and I know that I won’t be late. I only feel sorry for his twin daughters. I can only tell him to go safely, no worries, Salim Kumar is on the way."
