Mollywood's most famous star kids

The Malayalam cinema industry has never been short of star kids who maintained or excelled beyond the legacy of their celebrated parents. Some of them have already established their stardom, some are climbing up the ladder. Let us look at the present generation of star children who are making their parents proud with their success and on-screen performances.
2/8

Kalidas

Winning the hearts of viewers with his adorable performance as a child artist in the movie 'Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal' along with his father Jayaram, Kalidas then took a long break before returning to the world of cinema. But on his return, this young actor surely made an impact on viewers. His debut movie 'Poomaram', which released this month, is getting positive reviews for its candid style of narrative and of course for Kalidas's charming performance as a college union chairman. Kalidas's performance was well received by critics and movie lovers as the actor portrayed a level-headed character. His control over expressions and modulation of dialogue delivery was duly noted. Surely, this promising actor is going to make his mark in Mollywood in the near future.
3/8

Dulquer Salmaan

Dashing, stylish and down to earth, Dulquer with his touching acting performances and charming persona has won the hearts of audience within a quick period of time. Coming to cinema with the baggage of a towering identity, that of mega star Mammootty's son, Dulquer didn't need many movies to make his own name in this industry. In his first movie itself, Dulquer proved his range as an actor. The character Lalu, that of a small-time gangster gave Dulquer a perfect platform in Mollywood. Dulquer soon elevated into the status of a guaranteed actor and was sought-after by many acclaimed directors. His performance in the popular movie 'Charlie' won him the State Award for best actor. Dulquer never rested on his laurels and instead continued to be part of good movies. Most of his movies are a success at the box office.

Pranav

Pranav who has been under the radar for so long has finally marked his presence in the industry with his recently released movie 'Aadi'. Being the son of iconic actor Mohanlal, Pranav never used his father's influence to take an easy route to get into cinema. Always in the news for his humble and spiritual way of life, Pranav always avoided the limelight of his father's identity. Pranav's title character Aadi proved how good a performer he is as the actor pulled off some spine-chilling stunts in the movie. The actor, according to critics, has great potential and can live up to his father's legacy.
5/8

Gokul

Son of Mollywood's action hero Suresh Gopi, Gokul, debuted his acting career in a rom-com movie titled 'Mudhugau'. Gokul in his first movie itself showed his potential as an expressive and instinctive actor. His character was warmly accepted, even though the movie didn't do well in the theaters. After his first movie, Gokul didn't get many movies to his credit, but did a significant role in the recently released controversial movie 'Ira' along with Unni Mukundan. Only time can tell how this young actor finds his path in the industry.
6/8

Prithviraj

Already the superstar among this generation of actors, Prithviraj, son of late actor Sukumaran, has been a revelation to Mollywood. Lovingly called as Prithvi, the actor with his envious voice and versatility, gained popularity in quick time. His first movie 'Nandanam' itself was a major hit and soon he progressed as a successful actor. Prithvi, who always has a firm stand on social issues never shies away from expressing his opinions in public and seldom cares about criticism. Confident and talented, Prithvi has won many accolades including the State Award for best actor twice in his career. His roles in 'Indian Rupee', 'Urumi', 'Ayalum Njanum Thammil', 'Celluloid', 'City of God' were memorable for his outstanding performances. Recently this young superstar announced the start of his own production house in a mission to make meaningful movies.
7/8

Indrajith

Sukumaran's elder son, Indrajith came to Mollywood about the same time his younger brother Prithvi debuted. Unlike Prithvi, Indrajith did not start his career successfully, but the talented actor soon got noticed with some exciting characters. His negative character of an evil cop in Eeppan Pappachi, in the biggest hit of 2002 'Meesa Madhavan', was a breakthrough in his career. Indrajith's ability to handle comedy was an advantage as he got a number of humour oriented movies in his career. Owing to his flexibility as an actor Indrajith explored more as an actor and didn't confine him to be a hero alone. His villainous characters and comedy characters are always well received. His character Vattu Jayan in the critically appraised movie 'Left Right Left' was a landmark role in his career.
8/8

Vineeth Sreenivasan

Keeping his boy-next-door image intact always, Vineeth, son of dexterous actor-director Sreenivasan, is a multi-talented individual, just like his father. A playback singer, actor, director, producer and screenwriter, Vineeth has made his signature in almost all important fields of cinema. His directorial debut 'Malarvadi Arts Club' was a refreshing narrative about friendship with a cast that has many promising newcomers. Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Bhagath who debuted in that movie, became noted stars in Mollywood later. Vineeth started his acting career in the movie 'Cycle' along with newcomer Vinu Mohan. Though the movie didn't do well in box office, Vineeth's acting was notable in the movie. He then did 'Makante Achan', in which Vineeth along with his father Sreenivasan did father-son roles like in real life. Vineeth's best performance was in the movie 'Chappa Kurish' where he portrayed the role of a naive Muslim youth who finds his grey side after he gets a mobile phone from a rich guy. This multi-talented actor is continuing his experiments in cinema and is successful most times.
