Here are some of the lesser known facts of Jayasurya...<br /> <br /> <br /> <strong>Early and family life</strong><br /> <br /> <br /> Versatile actor Jayasurya was born on August 30, 1978. His hometown is Thrippunithura in Kochi district. He completed his schooling from St. George U.P. School, Chambakkara and Govt Sanskrit High School, Tripunithura. He graduated from All Saints College, Ernakulam. He married his long-time girlfriend Saritha in the year 2004. Before marriage, they used to stay in the same building. Jayasurya has two children &ndash; Adwaith and Veda.

Started career as a mimicry artist and TV show host


After graduation, Jayasurya joined Kottayam Nazir's mimicry troupe, Cochin Discovery and Crown of Cochin. Jayasurya even hosted several music and comedy shows on TV like Jagathy vs Jagathy in Kairali TV. The show was a super-hit and even gained high TRPs. Jayasurya even had a short stint in the movie Aparanmar Nagarathil which had the entire cast of his mimicry troupe.

No dialogues in the first film


Jayasurya made his debut as a leading actor with the film Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan directed by Vinayan that released in the year 2002. His character was mute in the film. Hence, he did not have any dialogues in the film. Jayasurya even reprised this role with his co-star Kavya Madhavan in its Tamil remake En Mana Vaanil. With this film, they both debuted in the Tamil film industry. The film was also remade in Kannada as Sogasugara.

Jayasurya proved himself as one of the most bankable actors of Malayalam film industry. He even showcased his singing talent by becoming a playback singer in four films. His songs include Komalavalli from the film Immini Nalloraal (2005), Adhyaamaai from the album Ormathalukal (2008), Aashichavan from the film Punyalan Agarbattis (2013) and Maiyya Morre from the film Happy Journey (2014).

Actor turned producer


After acting and singing, he turned producer with the satirical comedy film Punyalan Agarbattis directed by Ranjith Sankar that released in the year 2013. Alongside Jayasurya, the film also starred Nyla Usha, Aju Varghese, Rachana Narayanankutty, Innocent and Sreejith Ravi. The music for the film was given by Bijibal and lyrics was penned by Santhosh Varma. The movie was a box-office hit.

Anoop Menon acted alongside Jayasurya in his Malayalam debut Kattuchembakam that released in the year 2002. They share a great camaraderie with each other and have almost acted in ten films together. Their collaborations includes Kattuchembakam (2002), Currency (2009), Ivar Vivahitharayal (2009), Patham Nilayile Theevandi (2009), Cocktail (2010), Beautiful (2011), Trivandrum Lodge (2012), Hotel California (2013), D Company (2013) and Aamayum Muyalum (2014).

He adapts to any character well &ndash; be it comedy, serious or even negative roles. He had some negative shades in the 2006 blockbuster <em>Classmates</em>, which was a path-breaking movie for him. His other movies where he played negative roles are <em>Hareendran Oru Nishkalankan</em> (2007), <em>Kangaroo</em> (2007), <em>Iyobinte Pusthakam</em> (2014) and <em>Arabikkatha</em> (2007) to name a few.

The dedicated actor, who recently turned 37, has impressed the M-town and cinema lovers with his dedication and passion for acting. He was applauded for his role of Subin Joseph in the film Apothecary and was also nominated at the National Film Awards in the Best Actor category. For his role in 2015 release Aadu, he reportedly gained 80 kgs. He played the role of a guy expert in tug-of-war.
