'The film is based on the Maoist issue with references to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act,' says the director. 'Indrajith and Rima have done the lead roles in the film. While

Indrajith

plays a police officer, there is a mystery surrounding Rima's character. She is someone who lives in the forest and is suspected to be a Maoist.'

The movie though will be a change from Dr Biju's previous movies such as Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal and Perariyathavar. 'It has got a commercial tinge. There are police encounters and the pace of the film will be appealing to the audience,' he says.

The director is currently busy with the final stages of post-production. 'We have used sync sound for the movie and that's taking time. I will be leaving to Mumbai for the final mixing of the film this week. We are planning to screen the movie in festival circuits before its theatrical release,' says Dr Biju.

Kaadu Pookkunna Neram, which also has Indrans, Irshad and Prakash Bare in important roles, was extensively shot in the forests of Achankovil and Adavi.
