On March 6th, 2016, the Malayalam film industry witnessed the loss of the talented actor Kalabhavan Mani. Terming Kalabhavan Mani merely as an actor would be an understatement as he has excelled in several other areas including singing, mimicry, and several others. By playing several memorable roles and due to his humble real-life behavior, the actor has slalomed his way into the hearts of every Malayali audience. Today on his 6th death anniversary, let's take a look at some of the lesser known facts about our ‘Chalakkudikkaran Changathi’.

Most of his vehicles bear the registration number 100

Kalabhavan Mani owned a Jaguar XF, Mahindra XUV, Mitsubishi Pajero, a Honda Getz and most of these vehicles had one thing in common as all of them were bearing the registration number 100. The register number for his Jaguar XF was KL-64-C-100. During an interview with a popular media channel, Kalabhavan Mani explained why he gave the number 100 to most of his vehicles. His explanation was funny as he said that while he was a kid he always wanted to score 100 marks for exams, but that wish didn't get fulfilled. So as a wish-fulfillment, he gave the number 100 to most of his vehicles.

His real name

We all know the legendary actor by the name Kalabhavan Mani. But his real name was Kunnisseri Veettil Raman Mani. He was born on January 1, 1971, to Chenathunad Kunnisseri Veettil Raman and Ammini at Chalakudy, Thrissur district.

Making debut with the Suresh Gopi starrer film

Kalabhavan Mani made his acting debut in the Malayalam film industry with the Suresh Gopi starrer film ‘Aksharam’ and played the role of an auto rickshaw driver. He only had a small screen time in the film. 'Aksharam' was directed by Sibi Malayil and the script was penned down by the renowned writer John Paul.

A Philanthropist

Apart from the memorable roles that Kalabhavan Mani has played in several films, what the audience really loved about the actor was his humble behavior. He provided humanitarian assistance to those people in need and has also contributed money for the development of local schools, religious organizations, and several other institutions.

Tamil debut with the Vijayakanth starrer film

Apart from playing major roles in Malayalam films, Kalabhavan Mani has also helmed several pivotal roles in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films. He made his Tamil debut as a junior artist for the Vijayakanth starrer film ‘Captain Prabhakaran’ which was released in the year 1991.
