Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly, who was accused of sexual assault, was absolved of the charges today, November 6. The actor shared a post on his Instagram account expressing gratitude for the support he received.
On November 6, Nivin posted a note on his Instagram account: “Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by me. Thanks for all the love, prayers, and support ��❤️.”
Many actors, including Mamitha Baiju, Shwetha Menon, Rajisha Vijayan, Srinda, Tovino Thomas, Saniya Iyappan, and others, reacted to the post with love and emojis. Several of his fans also shared positive messages to convey their solidarity.
A Kerala resident from Neriamangalam recently accused Nivin Pauly of allegedly assaulting her in Dubai under the pretense of offering her a movie role in November 2023. However, an investigation has since confirmed that Pauly was not in Dubai at the reported time of the incident, leading the court to officially clear him of all charges. According to India Today, this conclusion was documented in a report by DYSP Kothamangalam and submitted to the First Class Magistrate Court.
The case first gained public attention in September when the woman filed her complaint with the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed following the Hema Committee's report on addressing sexual misconduct in the film industry.
Nivin Pauly publicly responded to the allegations during a press conference, stating, "An FIR has been filed against me. I am determined to fight this legally and am ready to go to any lengths to prove my innocence. False accusations can target anyone, and if we don’t address them, they will continue." He also expressed that he did not know the complainant personally, although he acknowledged familiarity with one individual named in the FIR. Pauly described the allegations as part of a conspiracy against him.
