Nithya Menen has paid a beautiful homage to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray by re-creating the look of his heroine Mrinmoyi from his work ‘Samapti’. ‘Samapti’ is the third chapter in the triptych ‘Teen Kanya’ released in 1961. Based on , which is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short stories, ‘Samapti’ featured Aparna Sen as the Mrinmoyi.

Nithya dressed as young Mrinmoyi for a photo series, and the pictures are simply beautifully. Adorned in traditional saree and jewellery, Nithya Menen has embraced the beauty of Mrinmoyi.

She shared the pictures on social media and wrote, “Mrinmoyi from Samapti, directed by Satyajit Ray (based on Tagore's short story of the same name). It is a love story, which shows the rather painful journey of its lead character Mrinmoyi from being an unruly and carefree young girl to a loving wife. Reimagine is an attempt to take a fresh look at the character and spin a new story out of them. But all are re-interpretations with an intriguing approach, while retaining the visual essence of the original works.”

Check out the pictures here.

On the work front, Nithya Menen’s recent outing in Malayalam was ‘Master Peace’, a web series.
