​Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s Kerala visit post-marriage

Superstar Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan tied the knot on June 9, sealing their six years long courtship in holy matrimony. A couple of days following their wedding day, the newly married couple flew down to Kerala, where Nayanthara’s family lives. From visiting Nayanthara’s family in Thiruvalla to exploring the local cuisines of Kerala, here’s everything the Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan did on their first trip to Kerala, as a married couple!

​Spotted in Cochin airport

On Sunday (June 9), Nayanthara and hubby Vignesh Shivan landed in Cochin International Airport. The new bride Nayanthara was seen decked up in an orange and peach kurta set, while she was clicked at the airport. Vignesh Shivan was donning an all-black ensemble, holding wifey Nayan’s hands, and exiting the airport.

​Meeting family

Upon landing in Kochi, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan drove to Thiruvalla, where her family lives. Though the duo used to visit Nayanthara’s home very often, especially during festivities such as Onam, this trip marks their first as a married couple. Vignesh Shivan is close with Nayanthara’s parents and he often shares their pictures on social media. And during this visit, he is officially a member of the family!

​Temple visit

The first thing Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan did, after landing in Kerala, was visiting the Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathi temple, situated in Alappuzha. On the next day of landing in Kerala, the couple drove to Chettikulangara temple and sought the blessings of Goddess Bhadrakali amma. Nayanthara was spotted wearing a printed kurta set in white, while Vignesh Shivan wore Kerala kasavu mundu and shawl, while visiting the temple. The couple offered prayers for their new life together and spent some time in the temple.

​Food tour

How can one not go on a food tour, especially when you visit the land of spices! Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are unapologetic foodies and they explored some of the local eateries in Kochi, during their recent visit. From the special ‘Mohabeth’ tea to ghee rice and chicken curry, the couple and their family, indulged in a delectable feast in a popular restaurant in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi.
