Mohanlal confirms title ‘Patriot’ for Mahesh Narayanan's film; Starring Mammootty, Nayanthara and more

Malayalam cinema is gearing up for one of its most anticipated reunions as superstar Mohanlal teams up with Mammootty in director Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming big-budget film.



The project, which had been shrouded in mystery under the working acronym MMMN, finally has an official title: 'Patriot'.


Mohanlal confirmed the news during a recent media interaction in Sri Lanka, where he is prepping for the film’s schedule, according to Mathrubhumi. Speaking to local reporters, the veteran actor said that they are doing a very big film in terms of the star cast. The 'Thudarum' actor further revealed the name if the project as 'Patriot'.


'Patriot' to feature a star-studded ensemble



The announcement has only increased the buzz around the film, which already had fans excited thanks to its high-profile cast.




Apart from Mohanlal and Mammootty sharing screen space after nearly 16 years, Patriot also stars Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban — making it one of the most ambitious Malayalam productions in recent times.


Director Mahesh Narayanan who is best known for the films 'Take Off', and 'Malik', the expectations are quite high for the movie.

While the exact genre of the movie is not yet officially revealed, the title 'Patriot' posits that it will be a intriguing drama film.


On the other hand, Mohanlal who is currently enjoying the success of 'Thudarum', has finally officially announced 'Drishyam 3' on the last day. The Jeethu Joseph's directorial will start rolling on October 2025 and the expectations are obviously high.
