Midhun Manuel Thomas reveals the ‘Turbo’ story is inspired by a real-life scam

Expectations are running high as the Mammootty starrer ‘Turbo’ is set to release on May 23. Adding to the buzz, writer Midhun Manuel Thomas has disclosed that the film’s story is inspired by a real-life scam.

During a promotional event for ‘Turbo’, Midhun Manuel Thomas revealed the intriguing origin of the film’s plot. He explained that the storyline is based on an incident that happened to someone he personally knows. When he narrated the story to Mammootty, the superstar immediately recognized the event and asked, “Isn’t this an incident that happened to him?” Midhun confirmed that Mammootty quickly recalled the incident, demonstrating his awareness of the real-life events that inspired the film.

‘Turbo’ is an upcoming Malayalam action-comedy movie directed by Vysakh with a script crafted by Midhun Manuel Thomas.

The film stars Mammootty as Turbo Jose, a Jeep driver from Idukki who faces numerous challenges that compel him to move to Chennai. Once there, he becomes involved with Indhulekha and her brother, Jerry. Jose soon finds himself entangled in a series of unexpected events, including confrontations with Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram and various others.

'Turbo' promises a blend of action and comedy, set against the backdrop of a gripping and realistic narrative. The movie has already done good pre-sales business, as it has collected more than Rs 2 crore.
