Indrajith Sukumaran's much-anticipated feel-good drama, 'Marivillin Gopurangal,' seems to have struggled to make a mark at the box office on its opening day. Despite the anticipation surrounding its release and meticulous planning for the perfect timing, the film failed to draw significant audience attention.
According to reports from the Sacnilk website, the movie managed to garner a meager collection of only Rs 8 lakhs on its debut day. Early estimates for the second day suggest a slight increase, with the film raking in Rs 11 lakhs. However, even with the combined figures from the first two days, the India net collections for 'Marivillin Gopurangal' only amount to Rs 19 lakhs, while the India gross stands at Rs 21 lakhs. The film's worldwide box office collections have also been lackluster, reaching a total of just Rs 21 lakhs.
Directed by Arun Bose, 'Marivillin Gopurangal' tells the story of Shinto and Sherin, a married couple navigating through life in the city as they pursue their dreams amidst various obstacles and humorous situations.
Starring Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead role, the film features an ensemble cast including Shruti Ramachandran, Sarjano Khalid, and Vincy Aloshious. Despite the talented cast and promising storyline, the film received poor reviews from the audiences.
