‘Manichithrathazhu’ re-release: Vivek Ranjit shares his experience after watching the special preview

The Malayalam classic ‘Manichithrathazhu’, directed by Fazil and starring Suresh Gopi, Shobana, and Mohanlal, is set for a grand re-release on August 17. Originally released in 1993, the film will return to the silver screen after 30 years after getting remastered into 4K Dolby Atmos.

Screenwriter and subtitler Vivek Ranjit went to the special preview of the film and he was clearly blown away. In a note shared on Instagram, Vivek said, “#Manichitrathazhu 4K Atmos in P[XL]. What an experience to watch the special preview of a milestone film in Malayalam cinema, which has been an integral part of all our lives, remastered and re-releasing after 31 years. Even the tame, invited audience couldn't help but erupt into laughter and applause at some of the most iconic scenes in the film. All of us went Ambada Kema, Sunny Kuttaa, together and that was just amazing.

Directed by Fazil, ‘Manichithrathazhu’ is scripted by Madhu Muttam. Starring Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Shobana, the film also features Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Vinaya Prasad, K.P.A.C.Lalitha, Sridhar, K.B. Ganesh Kumar, Sudheesh, Thilakan, Kuthiravattam Pappu, Rudra, Kuttyedathi Vilasini in supporting roles. As the re-release day is approaching, the excitement has reached fever pitch.
