The upcoming film is expected to be a family entertainer and if reports are to be believed the team has begun shooting in Tamil Nadu. Theni Eswar who has captured the visuals for Mammootty starrer ‘Peranbu’ and ‘Puzhu’ has roped in as the cinematographer. Lijo Jose Pellissery has reportedly roped in debutants actors from Kerala and Tamil Nadu for the film.

The expectations of the cinephiles have skyrocketed as Lijo Jose Pellissery has joined hands with Megastar Mammootty. The rumours on the grapevine also suggests that the duo are in talks for an upcoming anthology film, which will be based on a novel by the legendary MT Vasudevan Nair.

Lijo Jose Pellissery who began his career as a director with the 2010 release ‘Nayakan’, grabbed eyeballs in 2013 for his third directorial ‘Amen’. Featuring Fahadh Faasil, Swathi Reddy, and Indrajith Sukumaran in lead roles, ‘Amen’ revolved around the events that happen in a picturesque village following the arrival of a young pastor. The satire was laced with elements of romance and comedy, the film created ripples in the Malayalam movie industry.


Lijo Jose Pellissery carved a niche in the industry with his 2017 directorial ‘Angamaly Diaries’. From the protagonist Pepe (Antony Varghese) to the supporting characters, and the villain Ravi (Appani Sharath), the film featured about 1000 debutant actors and it emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. His next 'Ee.Ma.Yau.' a satire that revolves around death too won hearts and bagged him the award for Best Director. His 2019 release ‘Jallikattu’ that revolved around the man vs beast concept too stirred up conversations and bagged accolades including the state award for best director and National Award for Best cinematography (Girish Gangadharan). The film was also went for the 93rd Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film, however, lost the race towards the end. His latest work is ‘Churuli’, and the film is yet to hit the screens.
