Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi backs CM Vijay; Says 'Let him work and prove himself'
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay continues to receive reactions from political leaders and film personalities following his rise to power. The latest to speak about the actor-turned-politician is Suresh Gopi, who believes it is too early to assess the performance of the new government.
Speaking to reporters, the actor and Union Minister said Vijay should be given enough time to prove his capabilities as an administrator before facing criticism.
As quoted by Hindustan Times, he said, “Let Chief Minister Vijay work. Let him work and prove himself. It would not be right to criticise him before that. People have given him a chance. Let him do a good job.”
The senior leader made it clear that he had no objections to such a move and welcomed greater political participation. He suggested that any political party should have the freedom to expand its activities wherever it chooses.
Responding to the question, he said, “What is the problem if the Tamil Nadu party which achieved victory starts in Kerala? If he is coming, let him come. Let him come anywhere (Kerala) he wants, let him start. Let everyone come and benefit the world and the Tamil people.”
However, the veteran actor decided not to share his opinion on the subject. During a brief interaction with reporters, Mammootty responded with a smile and chose not to engage in a detailed discussion.
He indicated that he was not aware of the matter and politely excused himself before moving on.
Mohanlal explained, “It’s basically the characters we play, not the personal stuff.”
Mohanlal also reflected on how audiences have historically connected with some of Tamil cinema's biggest legends.
Drawing comparisons with iconic stars such as MGR and Rajinikanth, he suggested that their screen personas played a major role in building their enduring popularity. He added, “We never really looked at the personal life; that is something different.”
Coming to work front, Vijay has the most-awaited 'Jana Nayagan' in the pipeline.
