Lijo chettan only asks you to react naturally: Antony Varghese
Actor Antony Varghese is on cloud nine these days. The Mollywood actor's all three movies - Angamaly Diaries, Swathanthriyam Ardharathriyil and Jalikkattu - have been critically acclaimed with Jalikkattu being chosen as India's entry for the 93rd Academy Awards.
Antony, who has worked with its director Lijo Jose Pellisery twice now, tells us what it is that he enjoys most while collaborating with the filmmaker.

"Working with Lijo chettan is always a natural process; he asks you to behave, react and emote as you do in real life and that is why his movies are so rooted to reality. He doesn't ask you to do anything extraordinary," says the actor.
Talking about his third movie Jalikkattu being chosen for the Oscars in the International Films Category, Antony tells us, "I consider it my biggest blessing to have acted in Lijo chettan's film and for the movie to go to the Oscars is just a bonus. When people started calling me to inform me that the movie has been selected as India's entry to the Oscars, I thought they were pranking me. But now that I know that it's true, I don't have the words to explain my happiness. With the pandemic and lockdown, this year has made all of us feel a bit low, but this news has cheered all of us."
Antony meanwhile has completed shooting and dubbing for Ajagajantharam, which is directed by Swathanthriyam Ardharathriyil filmmaker Tinu Pappachan. He also has the sports entertainer Aanaparambile World Cup coming up that has him as a football player and coach.
