While Edavapathy director Lenins derailed plans of replacing Jagathy Sreekumar got sorted out with Prasanth Narayanan stepping in, sources inform that the flicks shooting locations too had undergone a bit of change. The locales that are cancelled were to figure in portions of the flick featuring the Tibetian monks and monasteries. These parts were initially planned to be shot in Kushalnagar, Karnataka at the Tibetian settlement.
Even though we had received permission earlier, after pointing out security reasons and tranquility disturbance that the shooting would bring to monasteries, it was later revoked, says a source from the production team.
The current plan is now to shoot all monastery scenes and major portions of the film in Kathmandu, Nepal. Edavapathy has two timelines one discussing the love story between Buddhist monk Upaguptan and courtesan Vasavadatta, and another between a young monk and pretty lass in the backdrop of socio-political issues of Tibetian exile.
The flick has several scenic locales including Munnar, Chitradurga and Coorg.
