Kayamkulam Kochunni is a recently released movie, which is an epic period film. The film is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby & Sanjay. The film is based on a character from the folklore, Kayamkulam Kochunni. Kochunni is a highwayman who is famous for his robberies. These incidents have taken place in the early 19th century in Central Travancore. He robs from the rich and gives it to the poor in the locality. Mohanlal has done a cameo appearance as highwayman Ithikkara Pakki, who is a friend of Kochunni.
