Jayasurya to play Kadamattathu Kathanar

, the legendary priest who is believed to have lived in Kadamattom and possessed supernatural powers, will be now recreated on big screen. Actor Jayasurya, who is known for his meticulous preparation and execution of characters, will essay the priest who, according to legend, battled blood-thristy vampires besides performing other miraculous deeds.

Talking about the project titled Kathanar, actor Jayasuarya says that he is extremely happy to join hands with the Philips and the Monkey Pen team again. "The movie will be directed by Rojin Thomas and the team includes Monkey Pen's composer Rahul Subrahmaniam, cinematographer Neil D'Cunha and Vijay Babu," Jayasurya says. The movie, scripted by R Ramanand, will have Kadamattathu Kathanar in a never seen or heard avatar, though it will be based on the popular stories.


The movie will be a fantasy thriller, reveals Vijay Babu. "It is going to be in 3D and 2D and and will be a technically demanding movie. It is targeted both at kids as well as adults," he adds. Vijay Babu and Jayasurya are working together in three other films, biopic of actor Sathyan, Sufiyum Sujathayum and Aadu 3. "We will work together for Kathanar too. After Sufiyum Sujathayam, we will be shooting the biopic. It will be shot in Palakkad. Meanwhile, we will be involved in the pre-production of Kathanar," Vijay Babu sums up.
