Jackie Shroff turns villain in M-Town

Many Bollywood actors like Rahul Dev, Dev Gill and Pradeep Rawat have played baddie roles with elan in Malayalam. The latest to enter the industry in a villainous avatar is none other than actor Jackie Shroff. He has been roped in to play the bad guy in a fun thriller titled Chila Nerangalil Chilar.
The actor has earlier worked in two Malayalam films — Platform No.1 and Athisayan.Aji John, the scriptwriter of Hotel California, has written the script of this film as well. Interestingly, he also plays the lead role of an economist in it. About his character, Aji says, “The story is set in Mumbai. We have heard a lot about this city and places like the Gateway of India, Dharavi, Andheri and Grant Road. But there is a Mumbai which is less known to many. An unseen and unexplored Mumbai will be unveiled through this film.”
Sreenivasan Parameshwaran, who has worked as the assistant to veteran filmmaker Balu Mahendra, will direct the film. Sanjjanaa and Vinutha Lal will play the leading ladies. Tamil actor JP, P Balachandran, Ashokan, Sudeesh, Devi Ajith and Prashanth Philip are also part of the cast. The movie will start rolling from May 1 and the locations will be Mumbai, Matheran and Malshej Ghat.
