‘Iyer in Arabia’ OTT release: Stream the Dhyan Sreenivasan starrer this weekend

Nearly a year after its theatrical release in February 2024, ‘Iyer in Arabia’, starring Dhyan Sreenivasan, Mukesh, and Urvashi, has finally made its way to OTT.

The story centers around Sreenivasa Iyer, played by Dhyan Sreenivasan, who voluntarily retires from his job at the AG's office and soon finds his life taking a surprising turn. Misguided by a group of dubious acquaintances, he begins to adopt extreme views on culture and religion. Meanwhile, his wife Jhansi Rani (Urvashi) persistently challenges his newfound convictions. Their son, Rahul Iyer, also struggles with his father’s rigid parenting methods, leading to tensions in the household. However, things shift dramatically when Sreenivasa Iyer and his wife temporarily move to Dubai to live with Rahul. What follows is a humorous and heartwarming journey of self-discovery, cultural adaptation, and evolving family bonds.

Veteran actors Mukesh and Urvashi deliver standout performances, adding depth and comic relief to the film. Dhyan Sreenivasan, who plays the conflicted son, brings a measured performance that complements the narrative. The movie also features the actors Shine Tom Chacko, and Durga Krishna in pivotal roles.

The family comedy-drama is now available for streaming on OTT from May 16 onwards.

On the other hand, Dhyan Sreenivasan is all set for his most-awaited upcoming project ‘Detective Ujjwalan’, which is releasing on May 23. The film is touted to be an investigative drama, and the expectations are high as it is bankrolled by the makers of ‘Minnal Murali’ and is said to be part of the same universe.
