We are back with yet another exciting installment of #FilmyFriday. ETimes presents - #FilmyFriday, wherein we recommend our readers one Malayalam movie, every week. And for this week, we are recommending ‘Kunukkitta Kozhi’, a film featuring Jagadeesh, Siddique, Rupini, and Parvathy in the lead roles.

​Synopsis

Unnikrishnan, an unemployed street-smart young man, who is best at deceiving all, gets outsmarted by a woman, and that too with a job, which he desperately wants.

​Opening shot

The film opens with a visual of an autorickshaw landing in front of a lodge. The filmmaker gives a glimpse into the lodge. A man is scooping the last drop out of his toothpaste, and smarty-pants Unnikrishnan steals it. He is good at deceiving others. Unnikrishnan is on his way to attend an interview and even gets his shoe polished for free.

​Plot

Unnikrishnan (Jagadish), a young man, who is best at deceiving others and getting his job done, gets outsmarted by Swarnalatha (Rupini). She manages to land the job, Unnikrishnan has been eyeing. And in a world where opportunities are scarce, they become rivals in no time. In order to save her job, Swarnalatha has to bear Unnikrishnan’s demands, which include looking after his expenses including food and accommodation, until he finds a job. Unnikrishnan moves into Viswanathan (Sidhique) and Indhumathy (Parvathy) house, where Swarnalatha lives, as the latter is her friend. Viswanathan and Indhumathy had eloped and married, and hence the latter’s family, which consists of her only grandmother, isn’t on terms with her. Things take an unexpected turn when Indumathy’s grandma (Philomina), finally decides to meet her granddaughter and let go of the past, but accidentally mistakes Unnikrishnan as her grandson-in-law.

​Trivia

Jagadish did a risky stunt in the film, wherein the villains push him near to the circular blade in a sawmill. Though he filmed the sequence, the actor later stated that it would have resulted in a fatal accident if something failed, and added that he won’t perform such stunts ever again.
