Evide movie review highlights: A steadily unwinding mystery that keeps the audience interested

As the name suggests, 'Evidey' is a mystery drama revolving around an absconding musician, Symphony Zachariah (Manoj K Jayan). Even the viral-for-the-wrong-reasons promotional video for the movie that had a distraught looking Asha Sarath, who plays Zachariah's wife Jessy, seeking help to find her missing husband, points towards a mystery thriller. The story by Bobby and Sanjay delivers the mystery that they promise.

Asha Sarath dons the garb of Jessy with an unprecedented simplicity. She's confident in the character as an 'achayathi' from Kattappana. Prem Prakash and Shebin Benson rise up to meet the story with due diligence. K. K Rajeev knows how to tell a story, and that needs no proof. The director has told us many a family soaps on television and with 'Evide' he starts in his comfort-zone - the familial ambience- and steadily ascends into the mystery.

'Evide' is based in a hilly agricultural Hamlet of Kattappana. It is common for Symphony Zachariah, a musician, to be absent from home for a long time at a stretch on account of his many stage programs. When he is away he often writes to his family. But when Zachariah's whereabouts are unknown for a period Jessy becomes suspicious and files a complaint with the police. However in a few days Jessy receives a letter from Zachariah and they withdraw the complaint. But Zachariah's whereabouts continue to be unknown. And the letters lead to more suspicions that hide more than they even answer. And now, Jessy has to find her husband and fetch answers.
