Dulquer plays the role of

Lieutenant Ram

in the movie, which is set in 1964. On roping in the actor, Hanu tells us, “He is tailor-made for the character of Lieutenant Ram. There isn’t anyone else who would be a better fit for the role and Dulquer’s a great actor too.”

Further on the movie, he says, “It’s a historical fiction. While it’s a love story, it’s got an army backdrop too, so there will be a lot of action scenes. It will have many different locations but it will be extensively set in Kashmir.”

The film is also backed by

Priyanka Dutt

, who had earlier worked with Dulquer in

Mahanati

and had last week announced another big-budget multilingual starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. Priyanka says, “Dulquer is one of the few actors who have a huge fan base in all three languages. Actors would usually be popular Telugu and Tamil. Dulquer’s Telugu movies OK Bangaram and Mahanati did well here and after that the Telugu audience loves him as their own. So, he’s in a very good space where all three States relate to him and it’s great to have him as part of the project.”

Meanwhile, Hanu says that the team has finished scripting the film and are currently in talks to finalise the female lead of the movie.
