'Demon Slayer Infinity Castle' creates history in Kerala; 'Blockbuster' status on Day 1; Fans call it ‘unbelievable’

The much-awaited 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle' (2025) has taken Kerala by storm.

Released worldwide this week, the anime film has registered one of the strongest openings for an animated movie in the state’s history.


According to industry tracker Friday Matinee, the film grossed between Rs 90 lakh and Rs 1 crore on its opening day in Kerala alone, earning blockbuster status instantly. The early released 'Mugen Train' movie had also received magnificent reception from the Kerala audiences.

The emotional response from the audience highlights how deeply the film has resonated. A fan wrote, “I am utterly speechless. There’s too much to talk about, and I’m struggling to even process what I just watched. All I’ll say is this was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
