It's a conspiracy of sorts against the makers of one of Mollywood's upcoming thrillers - Grandmaster. The film is yet to hit the screens, but online posts by strangers who claim to have seen the film have been thrashing it, and revealing climax scenes that may not have anything to do with the film in question.
Director B Unnikrishnan, who feels this is the work of a rival fan's community that often spreads such rumours against films that feature some of the big stars in the film industry.
The director filed a complaint against the cyber criminals on Saturday. "There has been no update on who exactly is behind such criminal activities online, but the cyber crime team is on the case. Miscreents will be caught and put to task soon. It is not fair for anyone to spread false rumours about a film without even knowing what it is all about," says Unnikrishnan.
The lead star of the film,
Mohanlal, seems quite unperturbed by what's happening around his film. A source says, "He never lets such negative stories affect him. There are very small issues and he does not pay much attention to them. He gives his 100% to his work, and leaves the rest to the audience. They are the once who finally decide if a film is good or not."
In addition to Mohanlal, Grandmaster features Jagathy, Priyamani, Anoop Menon, Narain, Roma among others. It is expected to hit the screens on May 3.
