Biju Menon to play lead in Ranjan Pramod’s film

Biju Menon seems to be the go-to guy for filmmakers to play a middle-aged family man of late. After Salt Mango Tree and

, the actor will play a character caught between rural-urban divide in Ranjan Pramod’s upcoming directorial.

The actor tells us, “I play a rustic character who is employed in the irrigation department. Every day he travels to the city from the village for work and returns in the evening to be with his friends and family.”

On choosing another rustic role, Biju Menon says, “It’s an entertaining story that depicts the delightful lives of people in villages, and how that changes with urbanisation. My character too experiences a whirlwind of emotions throughout the movie, which I found interesting.”

Director Ranjan Pramod says that the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. “The project is in the initial stage. It would take some time to go on floors so any announcement at this stage would be premature,” explains the filmmaker, who had also scripted movies such as Meesa Madhavan, Achuvinte Amma and Naran.
