Finally I have my own heroine in a film: Dhyan
Dhyan Sreenivasan is one of the few lucky actors who got launched in a film starring Shobhana as the lead actress. But then, the actor did not have a romantic interest in the film. His latest release, again has an interesting storyline, but Dhyan has no heroine in it. However, in his third film, Adi Kapyare Koottamani directed by debutant John Varghese, Dhyan finally has a heroine of his own — Namitha Pramod.

“Coincidentally, Namitha was my brother Vineeth Sreenivasan’s heroine in Ormayundo Ee Mukham which released last year,” says Dhyan, who plays a men’s hostel resident in the film, named Bhanuprasad. “The entire film revolves around a men’s hostel, and showcases life inside a typical hostel. The events which occur when a girl happens to enter one such hostel form the plot. It’s a hostel run by Christian missionaries and hence the title — Adi Kapyare Koottamani.” Aju Varghese and Neeraj Madhav play important roles in the film, which has elements of horror as well. Shoot for the film will start in the first week of September and it will release on Christmas Day.
Meanwhile, Dhyan has expectations high on his new release, which, he says, celebrates a bygone era. “There is no particular mention of the time period, but it will be a new film made in an old style, reminiscent of films like Pradeshika Varthakal. The acting used to be loud and everything was a bit exaggerated. The film is set in a small village, filled with myths and fantasies and superstitions.” Kunjiraman, played by Vineeth Sreenivasan, is the central character of the film, while Dhyan plays someone who keeps creating trouble for Kunjiraman.
