Mumbai to host a major retrospective on artist Jaya Ganguly
Mumbai is set to host a significant retrospective celebrating the work of artist Jaya Ganguly, bringing together over four decades of her artistic practice in a single, comprehensive exhibition.
Organised by the Centre of International Modern Art (CIMA) in collaboration with Art Magnum, Jaya Ganguly: A Retrospective (1982–2025) will be held at IFBE, Ballard Estate, offering audiences an expansive look at the artist’s evolving visual language.
The exhibition features works created between 1982 and 2025, tracing key phases of Ganguly’s career. Through a diverse range of mediums, the show highlights her distinctive engagement with form and colour, alongside an enduring exploration of emotional depth. Her works consistently reflect themes of the human condition, memory, and introspective inner landscapes.
Curated by Rakhi Sarkar, the retrospective situates Ganguly’s practice within a broader modern and contemporary framework while maintaining a strong focus on the artist’s individual voice.
