When emojis take centre stage

Monkey and the Mobile comes to town
The play Monkey and the Mobile uses the mobile phone and technology as a theme and looks at their impact on our lives through stories – some real, some imagined. Through unusual and everyday characters like Selfie-Gopal, Etroverts, a family of Emojis and animals with identity crises, larger themes like identity, control and memory are explored. Conceived in a collaborative manner, the play uses a combination of the actor, image and music, with a focus on story telling that is simple and engaging.
The play is directed by Rajiv Krishnan, while the performers are Anandsami, Anitha Santhanam, Darshana Rajendran, Paul Mathew, Rency Philip, Rijul Ray, Vasanth Selvam & Vinod Ravindran.
It is scheduled to take place from March 8 to 11 at Ranga Shankara, No. 36/2, 8th Cross Road, 2nd Phase, JP Nagar.
