is streaming the online version of ‘

Nidranagari

’, a children’s play written by Dr Kathyayini Kunjibettu and directed by Sunitha Ramachari. The music for the theatrical, is composed by Gajanana T Naik. It was a production for weekend children theatre workshop 2014 of the Bengaluru-based theatre collective.
The streaming of ‘Nidranagari’ on their YouTube channel is among the latest online initiatives by the group during the

pandemic

, as auditoriums and art spaces continue to remain closed to ensure public health and safety. Another project, ‘Abhyasa Malike’, is also garnering a lot of attention online.
The latest edition of this initiative is based on DV Gundappa’s ‘Mankutimmana Kagga’. It featured Nagaraja Somayaji, who tried a few ‘kaggas’ with Ramesh TS. Previously, ‘Abhyasa Malike’ featured theatreperson Sathyashree KS, who had presented a story, titled ‘Sathya’, from a collection of Sufi stories translated by Jogi. There was also a narration of a piece from what is said to be the world’s smallest stories collection by Spanish writer Bernardo Atxaga. This was translated to

by S Divakar, and the story was presented by Madhu, Dhanush and Nagaraj V.
Since its inception in 2004, Sanchari Theatre has continuously engaged in special experiments in theatre. It works for promotion of stage crafts and dramas. The group has over 50 actors, and has contributed many actors to the fields of film and television as well, actor Sanchari Vijay being a prominent name among them. He won a National Award in 2014 for his role in the critically acclaimed film ‘

and Prema Karanth. Sanchari is the brainchild of acclaimed dramatists Mangala, Rangayana Raghu and Gajanana. It has produced plays that included Kannada writers and Kannada translations of plays written by William Shakespeare and other foreign writers.
‘Urmila’, ‘Arahanta’, ‘Kamalamani Kamidi Kalyana’, ‘Kailasam Keechaka’, ‘Dhareyolagina Rajakarana’, ‘Narigaligeke Kodilla’, ‘Pinocchio’, ‘Vanity Bag’, ‘Sridevi Mahathme’, ‘No Presents Please’, ‘Venicina Vyapara’ and ‘Bhagavadajukeeya’ are among its popular productions.
