A historical play on stage
Purahara
starts in a place named Devapuri, which has only Shaiva and Vaishnava castes in the majority. But both castes hate each other and they treat each as untouchables. Both never enter to other temples and never mingle together. And at the time the Arab Sulthan conquers the Devapuri and he sends an Arab Adil Sha as a Mansabdar to the city. Arab Adil Sha feels bad when he sees such inequality and indifferences amongst people.

He decides to bring unity in them. He plans to build a temple which has both Shiva and Vishnu, keeping in mind that both will start entering the same temple and later it will be easier to bring them together.
The concept of the play is unique. Throughout the play, it shows the inequality and indifferences among the Hindu religion’s castes. And it also suggests that we should respect other religion as well as Hinduism. The writer criticized the mean mentality of Brahmins.
The play is directed by Karanam Pavan Prasad, and features artiste Pavan Sharma. Watch the play at Prabhath KH Kalasouda on August 12 at 7.30 pm.
