Maleye Maleye is an innocent love track, while the film
Salaga, deals with an underworld story.
The lyrical video, gives shows the chemistry between the lead pair,
Duniya Vijay and
Sanjana Anand. The video also gives fans a glimpse into the making of the song, much of which seems to have been shot in the rain. The crew can even be seen in raincoats as they work on filming the song. The video also gives a glimpse of the recording studio, where singers Sanjith Hegde and Aishwarya Rangarajan can be seen recording the song. The music director of the film is
Charan Raj. The video is definitely a tribute to the monsoon and the lush greenery of the hills of Chikmagalur, during this season.
Maleye Maleye was not in the original edit of the film. Shooting of the song started only after the lockdown was lifted, and actor Duniya Vijay, who is also the director of the film, has donned the hat of choreographer too, for the song. This was done in order to 'keep the crew minimal and ensure everyone's safety during the pandemic', he said to us in a previous interview. The actor had also told us that events in the film are inspired by his experiences through various phases of life.
