It’s been more than a year since actor and TV host Srujan Lokesh did a film as the lead hero. A supporting role in Chakravarthy and busy days in his role as host for his comedy show on TV, and producer of two other shows later, he is now all set to make the first feature film under his banner. Called

Ellide Illeethanka

— a title inspired by a song from his father Lokesh’s Ellindalo Bandavaru — the

romantic comedy

, directed by Tejasvi, sees Srujan pair with Hariprriya. “After

, I was on the lookout for a script that I could make from our banner. In fact, there were 4-5 scripts that looked interesting, one of which was an action flick and would have been apt, but I thought that a story-oriented film would be better now, as audiences are appreciative of good content. I really liked the story, as it is a complete family entertainer. The issue with action films is that it does not bring all kinds of audience to the theatres and the entire family would not be able to watch it together. As my first offering, I wanted my film to be for families. And with

onboard, the cinematography is in safe hands,” says Srujan, adding that the film goes on floors today.
While the actor remains tightlipped about the story and his character in the film, he says that the aim has been to strike a balance between his onscreen persona on TV and cinema, which were hitherto in different directions. “Audiences will see a different Srujan onscreen,” he quips.
To be shot in Bengaluru and Mysuru, with music by Arjun Janya, Ellide Illeethanka will also star Girija Lokesh, Thara, Avinash, Tabla Nani, Sadhu Kokila, Yashas Surya, Radhika Rao, Mandya Ramesh and Sihi Kahi Chandru, among many others.
