Sridevi’s social commitment

Bollywood diva Sridevi, who has made an impressive comeback on screen with critically-acclaimed film English Vinglish last year, is all set to work in a documentary film dealing with a social issue. Although nothing much is known about Sridevi’s latest endeavour, we have come to know that the actress is collaborating with Shanky, the son of well-known director Balu Mahendra.In fact, it was director’s Tamil film Moondram Pirai, which was also made in Hindi as Sadma, earned huge recognition for the actress.
Sridevi has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and a few Kannada films. Some of her notable Kannada films are CBI Shiva ( 1991 ), Gopi Kalyana ( 1994 ), Jagadeka Veera ( 1991), Kanchanaganga ( 2005 ), Mangalya Bandhana ( 1993 ) and Preethigagi ( 2007 ).
After her marriage to Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, Sridevi took a long sabbatical from films. However, she made her comeback with English Vinglish in 2012 and once again proved her calibre as a fine actress, whose every performance remains etched in the hearts of the audiences.
