Debutant filmmaker Karen Kshiti Suvarna’s 10-minute Independent short film, Hide and Seek, aims to shed light on schizophrenia and its severe consequences. The short film has been making rounds at many international film festivals, including Cannes.
In the international arena, Karen has received appreciation for her craft and filmmaking skills. The film touches upon a relevant topic in today's world, as we witness family killings/public/mass shootings due to depression and schizophrenia. The film carries a poignant message about the anguish and suffering caused by schizophrenia and the need for understanding and empathy.
Karen, a native of Mangaluru, has studied filmmaking in Mumbai and has been vocal about mental health struggles and its consequences through her work.
Anil Kumar has handled the cinematography for the film, and the background score is by National Award-winning music composer Bapi Tutul.
