Shankar Nag To Sudeep: Actors Who Turned As Director In Kannada

Kannada cinema has seen so many actors who have turned directors and have gone on to score a big hits and lived up to the expectations bestowed by the audience till now. Here are some of the Kannada actors who have turned into directors:

Shankar Nag is one actor in Kannada who is very sound and knowledgeable on the technical side too. Shankar Nag turned director for 'Minchina Ota' released in 1980 and proved his prowess as a director too and went on to give Kannada cinema many more classics in his directorial ventures.

Ravichandran was brimming with new ideas and creative styles and to showcase he turned as a director in his production house convincing his producer-father. The result was, the evergreen 'Premaloka' which turned out to be the most lavish made at that time and smashed the box office records.

Coming from the great K Balachander school, Ramesh Aravind turning as a director was a sweet surprise and it was with the encouragement of his friend Kamal Haasan, Ramesh Aravind turned director in 'Rama Shama Bhama', remaking his Tamil film 'Sathi Leelavathi' which co-starred Kamal Haasan and made it a blockbuster in Kannada.

None expected Sudeep to turn as director as the actor was doing great as a lead hero. Sudeep turned a director in the film 'Autograph', a remake of the Tamil blockbuster 'Autograph' and saw a huge success. Later on, Sudeep kept proving himself by scoring big hits in his directorial ventures.
