Puneeth Rajkumar's tryst with Malayalam actresses

Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar's long career has seen him romance many leading ladies and many of these on-screen pairings have achieved cult status over time. Be it with Rakshita, his debut film's co-star, or Ramya, an integral part of some of his early outings, Puneeth Rajkumar's reel romances have been vital to his longevity and stellar success as an actor. And interestingly, it's the Malayalam divas that feature prominently in the journey who have proven to be quite the lucky charms and earned him many memorable successes in the course. From Bhavana to Parvathy Thiruvothu, the list comprises many talented actors and each of their film alongside Puneeth Rajkumar carry a special vibe for some reason.

One of Puneeth Rajkumar's biggest hits to date came in 2007 through 'Milana' wherein he co-starred alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu. Parvathy, a highly acclaimed actor today, was fresh off the success of her Malayalam outing 'Notebook' when her Kannada debut came along with 'Milana'. Despite being a relatively lesser-known face at the time of its release, Parvathy Thiruvothu stood for her credible performance and it was her on-screen chemistry with Puneeth Rajkumar that stood out and carried the charm for the audience. The film, interestingly, celebrates the 14th anniversary of its release today and fans recall the film, especially, for their special on-screen bond. The two would reunite about a year later for 'Prithvi' which too turned out to be a successful film in its own right.

Another of Puneeth Rajkumar's cult successes is Duniya Soori's 'Jackie' which brought along Puneeth Rajkumar and Bhavana together for the first time on the screen. 'Jackie' is also Bhavana's Kannada debut and the film's stellar commercial and critical success lent her a great start in Kannada Cinema, making her one of the brightest talents to watch out for. Although she hasn't returned to star alongside Puneeth since then, their on-screen romance in 'Jackie' has been forever etched in mind, leaving the fans wanting for more.

Just as with Bhavana, Meera Jasmine's Kannada career too began alongside Puneeth Rajkumar. Through 'Maurya', released in 2004, Meera Jasmine and Puneeth forged a special on-screen bond which was repeated later in 2007 with much more success, in the form of 'Arasu'. Meera Jasmine hasn't featured in many Kannada films post that but fans still do recall her fondly for her collaborations with Puneeth Rajkumar.

The 'Premam' girl Anupama Parameswaran has featured in one Kannada film to date which came in 2019 as 'Natarsaarvabhowma'. Directed by Pawan Wadeyar and co-starring Puneeth Rajkumar, the film turned out to be a commercial success and much of it can be contributed to her on-screen chemistry with Puneeth Rajkumar. It would certainly worth the wait to see them repeat the magic soon, don't you reckon?
