in 2011, which had Yogi in the lead. After assisting on other films, I began working on my dream project —

Lambodara

. I worked on it for 2-3 years and am finally seeing my dream releasing this week,” says Krishnaraj.

Was working with Yogi in his first film as a director part of the plan? “I wanted my first film to be a fun comedy, as well as a family drama. The protagonist is a boy-next-door, who is a lot of fun to be around. And Yogi fit the bill perfectly. I approached him for the film just before his wedding, so he sought some time to think about the offer. Initially, I thought that he didn’t like the script, but was happy when he took active interest in the story, even suggesting some changes. It was evident to me then that he was looking for a different script and this was it,” says Krishnaraj, adding that the fact that Yogi gave over a year to this film is testament to the fact that the script is what drives Lambodara.
