I look like Tiger Prabhakar: Harish

From the time his debut film Just Maduveli was announced, hero Harish Kumar has often been told that he bears a strong resemblance to actor Tiger Prabhakaran. And while he just laughed it off initially, Harish says that he was taken aback when filmmaker Mahesh Sukhdare said that he wanted to capitalize on this similarity and make a film. “I have been asked to bulk up and train in action sequences for the film Shakti IAS...The Tiger is Back, so that I look more like Tiger Prabhakaran onscreen,” says the actor, who is elated about bagging another film, even before the release of his debut.
What makes this new role sweet for Harish is the fact that he had to toil hard to get Just Maduveli done. “My family has been involved in theatre, albeit in the technical side, for many generations, so I was exposed to the arts and drama very early on. But by the time I considered acting seriously, I realized that it is easier said than done. Producers don’t easily back newcomers, so I took it upon myself to learn all the nuances of filmmaking, including the technical and financial aspects and figured out ways to make the film myself. And now that people are recognizing my efforts in Just Maduveli, I feel my job is done,” he says.
