The film, will be a period drama and revolves around the time Reverend Ferdinand Kittel, who is known for producing the first Kannada-English dictionary. In an earlier conversation with us, Giriraj spoke about getting Ravichandran on board. "He’s reached a phase in his career where he is ready to take the risk, irrespective of how the box office responds. I feel this is the aspect that drew him to my film. He is blessed with a great aesthetic sense, and I think I’m fortunate to have met him in the right phase in his career. I attribute this to destiny. Five years ago, he would have probably not taken up a film like this,' says the filmmaker.

Kannadiga will go on floors soon. The film also features Jamie Alter, the late Tom Alter’s son, playing Kittel, and Balaji Manohar. Meanwhile, Ravichandran is waiting to release his film Ravi Bopanna soon.
