Awards are not required to prove how talented a filmmaker
Girish Kasaravalli is but an award does go on to show that the hard work of a filmmaker has been acknowledge. While Girish’s film, Koormavatara, might have failed to win awards at the state and national level but the film has surely impressed people at the international festivals where it has been screened.
After having screened the film at different international film festivals, Girish has taken the film to Imagine India International Film Festival, where it was not only appreciated but has also managed to earn two prominent awards.
The annual awards function which was held at Madrid, Spain concluded recently with Koormavatara winning two awards at the acclaimed festival. While Girish was adjuged the best director,
Shikaripura Krishnamurthy was awarded the best actor award for his sensitive performance. Three years back actor Biraadaar had won the best actor award for his performance in Kanasembo Kudureyaneri at the same festival.
