From Nikhil to Mayuri: Kannada film stars who got married during the lockdown

Coronavirus pandemic has put a pause to all the lavish plans of people. The government has issued a lockdown on all celebrations like functions and gatherings, keeping public safety in mind. Celebrity weddings usually happen in a very grand way. However, now, due to Coronavirus, celebrities are choosing to have simple ceremonies with limited guests. Here are some of the Kannada stars from Nikhil to Mayuri who got married during the lockdown.

Sandalwood actor and politician Nikhil Kumaraswamy were married to Revathi during the lockdown on the morning of April 17 at a farmhouse. The ceremony saw very few relatives present. Song of former CM Kumaraswamy, Nikhil got engaged to Revathi in February at a heritage, five-star property in Bengaluru. Nikhil Kumaraswamy made his acting debut in Kannada film industry from the movie ‘Jaguar’, and he also acted in ‘Seetharama Kalyana’, a historical movie ‘Kurukshetra’. Currently, the actor is busy hearing scripts and is planning to take on multiple movies simultaneously.

Sandalwood director Sumana Kittur was also married during the lockdown. She got married to software engineer and photographer Srinivas in Pondicherry, however, did not speak on social media about the wedding due to the lockdown. Sumana Kittur, who has lived in Pondicherry for many years, has married her longtime boyfriend. Sumana, who made her debut in Kannada film industry as an associate director and lyricist from the movie ‘Aa Dinagalu’, has directed many films.

Sandalwood director AP Arjun too got married to Annapurna on May 10 at his residence in Bangalore. The director entered the married life with a simple celebration, and only a few members from their families and friends witnessed the wedding. Arjun is married to Hassan-based girl Annapurna. The wedding was done while following proper lockdown guidelines without inviting many people. The couple had been in love for eight years, and finally tied the knot with their parents' blessings. AP Arjun made his debut in Sandalwood from the movie ‘Ambari’ in 2009. Later, he directed many movies like ‘Addhuri’, ‘Mr. Airavata’ and others.

Kannada actress Mayuri got married to longtime boyfriend Arun on June 12. The couple revealed about the wedding on social media after they tied the knot, and they also followed proper lockdown rules and regulations at the marriage. Actress Mayuri and Arun's wedding took place at the Lakshmi Venkateswara Temple in JP Nagar, Bangalore. Only the family and close friends were involved in the simple wedding ceremony. Actress Mayuri, who made her acting debut with a popular television serial, and made her big-screen debut with the movie ‘Krishna Leela’. Later, the actor featured in many movies like ‘Nataraja Service’, ‘Raambo 2’, ‘8MM Bullet’, ‘Rustum’ and others.
