From 'Hari Kathe Alla Giri Kathe' to 'Blacky': Kannada films that were launched during the lockdown

The lockdown has brought all the film industries to a standstill as all shootings and film work had been suspended till now. However, with the recent permission by the government allowing filmmakers to begin the post-production work of their pending films, movie lovers saw at least a ray of hope. The producers and director have launched new movies during the lockdown. Let’s take a look at Kannada movies that were announced during the lockdown.

After the success of ‘Bell Bottom’, Rishab Shetty is back again to play the lead role in the movie ‘Hari Kathe Alla Giri Kathe’. The auditions of the movie have already started. Director Giri Krishna is making his debut in Sandalwood with this film, and it is produced under Sandesh Production and Rishabh Shetty Films. The team has also called for auditions for female lead roles.

After the success of ‘Love Mocktail’, Darling Krishna is back again with the sequel of this movie. Krishna and Milana Nagaraj produced and acted in this movie. Krishna, who is directing the movie, put the lockdown to good use and finished the sequel story and launched the movie. Raghu Dixit has already started composing music for a romantic comedy film.

Two Kannada movies have been announced under Puneeth Rajkumar’s production house, and the movies are titled as ‘O2’ and ‘Family Pack’. 'O2' has already called for an audition, which is based on doctors and is helmed by two directors Raaghav Nayak and Prashanth Raj. Producer Radhakrishna has also invented this movie. Another movie ‘Family Pack’ starring Likith Shetty, Deshraj Rai, Amrutha Iyengar has also been announced. This movie is directed by Arjun Kumar. Rangayana Raghu, Achyuth Kumar, Dattanna, Tilak, and Nagabhushan are also cast in the movie.

Darling Krishna who has a lot of opportunities in the Kannada film industry, has signed a new movie 'Srikrishna@gmail.com' during the lockdown. Nagashekar of 'Sanju Weds Geeta' and 'Maina' fame will be directing the film. Nagashekar has previously directed movies like 'Myna' and 'Sanju Weds Geetha'. The film is produced by N. Sandesh under Sandesh Productions. Arjun Janya is composing music for the movie.

Two films starring Sathish Ninasam signed two movies during the lockdown and launched on his birthday. Doctor Arvind Shastry's new movie is titled ‘Dasara’, and the first look of the movie has created huge expectations. On the other hand, SriSai Production has also launched a new movie which is directed by Ravishankar. The team is yet to finalise the title, and the shooting will start soon.

Actor Mithra has acted in supporting roles. Now, he has announced a new movie playing a lead role, which is produced by Girish and director Ravikiran. The team is also planning to shoot at foreign locations after the coronavirus lockdown. Earlier, Mithra played the lead role in ‘Raga’ which was produced by himself.
