No amount of pre-shoot preparation prepares you to deal with unexpected climate changes. This was the case with the Ganesh- and
Neha Shetty-starrer Mungaru Male 2, which is readying for its release early next month. The team had planned its Europe schedule according to predicted weather conditions, but when they got there, they were in for a surprise.
'We had planned to shoot at two locations in Europe ' one that captures snow-capped mountains and the other was by the sea.
We planned to shoot the first by the end of February as that's when snowfall stops and what's left are visual treats of snow-capped mountains. But right from the moment we landed, there was unexpected heavy snow and rainfall. We could not shoot for the first two days that we were there, after which we dared to venture out and shoot in -5 degree Celsius,' recalls director
Shashank.
While the crew could still deal with the weather conditions with adequate warm gear, Shashank says, 'Our actors
Ganesh and Neha had a tough time. While Ganesh had to drive around in an open-top car, Neha was required to wear outfits that are definitely not suitable for the cold there ' what with short skirts and just a sweater to keep her a bit warm. But they did not complain much at all,' he says.
A big advantage, the director tells us, was that, 'No matter where you place the camera, the visuals were outstanding. In fact, we got our energy to battle the weather conditions from the visuals around us and from what we saw on our monitors.'
