There seems to be a new kind of tension brewing up in
Sandalwood. If one looks at 2020, one of the best musical hits of the year was Love Mocktail. The film marked the directorial debut of
actor Darling Krishna
and the songs of the film were undoubtedly one of the biggest high points of the film.
Raghu Dixit was the composer of these songs that are still fan favourites. Earlier this year, there was the news of
Raghu
Dixit no longer being a part of the sequel, which is currently underway.
Nakul Abhyankar
, who was part of the programming of the songs and also has sung two hit tracks in
Love Mocktail
, has taken on the responsibility of being the composer in the sequel.
The first track from the film was released on Valentine's Day, which also was coincidentally the wedding day of Love Mocktail lead couple
Darling Krishna and
Milana Nagaraj. Two days after the release of the song, Raghu took to his social media to post a cryptic message, which many say could be a dig at the makers of
Love Mocktail 2
and the song from the film, as well as the way the music industry works in general.
Raghu wrote, "A song needs soul my friend, not just great production and chord changes and arrangement, mix n master and all that big stuff. For that you need to know how a heart breaks and heals and shines through the cracks. Till then, you are just a dumb note. #ToHellWithViewsAndNumbers (sic)"
It will be interesting to see if there will be a response from the makers of Love Mocktail 2.
