Kannada actor Dhananjay may be busy shooting for Preetham Gubbi’s Boxer and keeping himself in perfect shape for the role, but he’s also readying himself for his next — TS Nagabharana’s Allama, the biopic on the 12th century mystic poet Allama Prabhu. In fact, the actor is looking at taking a 20-day break after the current schedule of Boxer to learn some skills for the film.
“Since Allama Prabhu was famous for his vachanas, I will be learning the basics of mridangam, which I am required to play while reciting. I will also be learning a few yoga asanas,” he says, adding that this break will be by the end of the month, as the film is expected to roll from November.
Currently sporting a beard and slightly long hair for Boxer, Dhananjay says that he will have a different look for Allama. “Since the film is a biopic that deals with Allama’s life from his teenage years to old age, I will change my looks accordingly. For the teenage years, I will be getting rid of the facial fuzz that I’ve got for my current film,” he says.
